Watercolor Artist Elizabeth Keller is a transplant from Cape Cod, Massachusetts who moved here many years ago. She is now a Haiku artist who loves the big panoramic view as well as the unusual vantages she gets from riding her bike up sections of Haleakala, around the back side of Maui towards Kaupo, and around West Maui. She has developed an ongoing series of what she calls “road paintings” that are smaller watercolors of beautiful curves and expanses of our many local rural roads. Ms. Keller goes for miniature detail and quirky subjects and formats. You might see her working on a small painting of an aloha shirt, a panorama of pineapple fields, a section of a winding road you recognize, or even a trompe l’oiel postcard.
