New Brasserie Open at Maui Thai Bistro!
Maui Thai Bistro, a local favorite in Kihei, has expanded and opened the doors of their new bar extension to the public on Friday, March 11th. The new bar has been coined ‘The Brasserie’ and will serve drinks from a brand-new cocktail list and food from its counterpart’s revamped appetizer menu, all in a relaxed and elegant setting. The bar will open from 4-10:30pm, 7 days a week.
What to expect from The Brasserie: something new and very different. Like any worthy bar on Maui, The Brasserie will have competitive happy hour offerings twice daily, yet will bring a new combination of flavors in a sophisticated setting. The bar will serve up tropical classics and Thai fusion drinks that will elevate your taste buds and surely give you something to write home about! Cory Wymer, the new bar manager of the long-awaited Brasserie, created the new cocktail list in hopes to ‘harmoniously balance Thai and tropical ingredients to enhance the flavors of Chef Prakong’s cooking.’
When Maui Thai opened in 2013, co-owner Chit Tharnthong shared some ideas on the culture behind the new restaurant: “Our venture is about authenticity. We are Thai, but we are also serious food people with a deep appreciation for the roots of modern cuisine.” He speaks on behalf of himself and his Thai co-owners, Oey Meesook and previously mentioned executive chef Prakong Tongsod. Tharnthong’s words could not be more true for The Bistro and the upcoming Brasserie. The establishment is laced with deep Thai roots and authentic Thai cooking yet is open to modern ideas of service, evolving tastebuds and the overall dining experience.
Maui Thai Bistro and The Brasserie are located side by side in the back corner of the Rainbow Mall Complex. 2439 S. Kihei Rd. Kihei, 96753. Bistro hours: 11am-2:30pm; 4:00pm-9:30pm. Brasserie hours: 4pm-10:30pm.
